AI productivity promises are everywhere, but Gmail still can't do the basics

Everyone's hyping up how AI will revolutionize productivity. Yet the simplest, most obvious use case? Gmail hasn't touched it. You get meeting invites buried in emails without calendar attachments, and you're stuck manually adding them yourself. Or you vaguely remember an old email and have to dig through your inbox like it's 2005. AI could solve these in seconds, but instead we're waiting for the next big thing while the low-hanging fruit rots on the tree.
